Karissa Avila Doan participates in dance competition

karissaAs a COMMUNITY BANK, we strive to make our neighborhoods a better place to live and work.  Our team members are amazing at volunteering and donating their time to accomplish this goal.  One such member is Karissa Avila Doan, AVP/Retail Banking Supervisor in Las Cruces.

This weekend, Karissa will be competing in the Season 11 Look Who’s Dancing!™ event.  Look Who’s Dancing!™ is a special entertainment event organized to benefit the New Mexico State University DanceSport Company. Our goal is to promote social dancing to the community as a healthful and enjoyable activity for all ages and all skill levels.

Karissa’s dance partner is Manny Carmona, last year’s Season 10 Champion.  He is a Dance Major for the NMSU Dance Program.

“It’s a huge honor to be selected to participate and help raise money for the NMSU Dance program,” stated Karissa.  “All the money raised go to the students to help them pay for the costs of attending competitions.  It makes me feel great to be able to help them and to have the support of Pioneer Bank to be able participate in community.  It has been an amazing experience to get to know my dance partner, Manny.  He is a brilliant dancer and I am fortunate to have him as a partner.  This experience has given me a new found respect for these students and dance sport. ”

We encourage everyone to attend this amazing competition and cheer Karissa and Manny on.  Learn more about the competition and purchase your tickets today!
