logoPioneer Bank is a community bank. As a team, we emphasize the importance of corporate citizenship, philanthropy, and commitment to the locality we serve. In addition to providing a solid portfolio of financial products, Pioneer Bank is fortunate to have a team driven by a desire to give back to their community. Pioneer Bank has led the way in charitable contributions for several years, but our sense of community spirit reaches far beyond financial donations. It has motivated our team to contribute and become more engaged in the neighborhoods, where we live and work.

Pioneer Bank recently implemented a Team Pioneer volunteer program to support regional and national organizations at the local level through giving and community service campaigns. Non-Profit organizations can request volunteers through our website at

Volunteers can be provided at various activities such as special events, community kitchens, work days, hands-on volunteer projects, financial management expertise, board service, and fundraising. Our workforce is diverse and talented with various strengths, skills, and connections. Our team serves as valuable ambassadors of the bank and are dedicated to serving our community and promoting positive change. This community engagement was one of the factors that led to our designation as the 2017 ‘Top Workplace’ by the Albuquerque Journal.

“At Pioneer Bank, we are as passionate about our community as we are about our customers,” stated Juliana Halvorson, Vice President of Marketing. “The sense of purpose our employees experience as they invest and take ownership of the projects they complete is incredible. So far, in 2017, our team has contributed over 1400 volunteer hours throughout the cities we serve. Pioneer Bank employees are encouraged to serve on boards and committees of groups for which they are passionate.”

Pioneer Bank began in 1901 as Roswell Building and Loan Association. It has grown to be one of the largest community banks in the region with sixteen locations in New Mexico, Texas and Colorado.
